@Brett You are right, I see a similar example now. But I do not have a DynamicModule in the window I create, so I am not sure where to put the InheritScope -> True this time. It won't work in either Dynamic[x] or in CreateDocument , nor is it fully documented to figure out the correct usage in this case. Do you have any hints? I'll update the main post in the meantime.
