comment Using Array Elements as Function Arguments
I.e. anything better than the slightly cryptic Join @@ Join[p, {n}]

comment Using Array Elements as Function Arguments
This does not necessarily answer the question if the function f requires extra parameters. What if I need f[a,b,c,d,n], like in the Join function? There is no other way but appending n to the list?

comment Mathematica Precision
This has a downside of cluttering your notebook. The solution of @Vitaliy Kaurov is better in this respect. It only produces the long form numbers, when required.

comment Optimization with assumptions
@gwr Well, the reason why I changed the answer was also that it didn't work in my Mathematica 9.0. Although I perfectly remember it working when I wrote the original answer. Anyway, I am not sure it is an easy task to give an analytical minimization result for the case of several variables dependency, so it would not surprise me much to see it unevaluated...

Thanks for the answer, but could you please provide a working example, because my auto-completion still does not work, when I repeat what you say.

That would be a good solution, if it worked for a general function.

comment Image processing: extracting ordered contour
A good solution, thank you! Just one more question: do you see a way how to assure that all the contours are passed in the same direction: clockwise or counterclockwise?
