I managed to get rid of the issue by unchecking the "use EDID" flag from the monitor's properties in the Catalyst Control Center.

UPDATE. It seems that manually changing the monitor's driver to "Digital flat monitor (1920x1200 60 Hz)" is the best solution in my case!
