I want to add an additional style to be used globally in my notebooks. I often find that I need both a "Code" style that is an initialization cell (and whose cells get exported to an automatically generated package https://mathematica.stackexchange.com/a/1371/45020) and one that is not. (With a different background color to indicate the difference.)

I want this modified style sheet to always be used by default.

I therefore copied Default.nb to $UserBaseDirectory using the method in https://mathematica.stackexchange.com/a/81016/45020 to make it editable.

Now I am confused about how to actually add another style to this. Even when set to editable, the new Default.nb does not have the bar on top that is supposed to be there to create new styles.

I tried copying the Code cell already there but that doesn't seem to be the way as it seems I cannot change its name to create a new style.
