I am trying to estimate root-mean-square of data and fitted curve. However, i don't know it is working well or not. Can you guys give me any idea?

data2 = Import["Downloads/fittedcurve.dat", {"Data", All,{1, 2}}]
RootMeanSquare[data[[All, 2]] - data2[[All, 2]]]

  • $\begingroup$ If you used Mathematica to estimate the parameters of the curve, you could request the "EstimatedVariance" property to get the mean square error. Take the square root of that to get the estimated root mean square error. $\endgroup$ – JimB May 14 at 5:33
