# Removing numerical instability in plots of functions over large domains

suppose you have a large domain you wish to plot a function over, which depends on numerical values usually around or above you machine precision e.g.

f[x_]:= SetPrecision[ 2 * 10^-50 Exp[x]^(-2)  + 0.000005108025600000 * Log[x-1]^3 - 0, 300]


And mathematica spits out a plot over many orders of magnitude, but there are convergence issues (i'm not saying this function has divergence issues, only that such numerical based functions can do.)

What are standard techniques to help reduce the divergence Mathematica outputs with respect to the functions evaluation?
