This is the from the the very good book of Hazrat

enter image description here

He used Mathematica 7.0.

In Mathematica 10.3 one gets

f[x_, y_] := Sin[x^2 + y^2] Exp[-x^2] + Cos[x^2 + y^2]

g2 = Plot3D[f[x, y], {x, -2, 2}, {y, -2, 2}, PlotPoints -> 50,
  Axes -> False, Boxed -> False]

enter image description here

How can I restore the PlotStyle of version 7? Thanks.

  • $\begingroup$ Thanks a lot. I edited the question and I added the figure from the book in order to make "visible" the difference. Initially I forgot it:-)! $\endgroup$ – Dimitris Nov 27 '15 at 17:51

    $\begingroup$ Because PlotTheme was introduced in version 10.0. $\endgroup$ – Karsten 7. Nov 27 '15 at 18:07
