The documented (!) TetGenConvexHull can compute the convex hull. TheThen using a GraphicsComplex will be efficient:

{coords, incidences} = TetGenConvexHull[pts];
Graphics3D[{EdgeForm[], GraphicsComplex[coords, Polygon[incidences]]}]
