May 10, 2019 at 6:55 comment added Roman @M.R. I had used the file extension ".mx" by mistake, should have been ".wl" all along as I use Save, not DumpSave. The reason being that during Get, DumpSaved files do not return a result while Saved files return the value of the last symbol in the file.

May 10, 2019 at 3:35 comment added M.R. @Roman please see my updated question... Could you re-formulate this into a SafeTable like function?
May 9, 2019 at 23:01 comment added Jason B. @M.R. MX files are portable across different platforms, I can make an MX file on my mac and share it with someone else on Windows. They aren't portable for systems with different $SystemWordLength, so someone on 32-bit Windows can't read an MX file created on a 64-bit system.
May 9, 2019 at 21:54 comment added M.R. I was hoping for it to be at the Table level, not tied to function downvalues :/
May 9, 2019 at 21:46 comment added M.R. This is an interesting approach but MX files aren't portable cross platform so I try not to use them
