Happy to see another answer! Then, I think it's worth pointing out that 1. formatSeries can actually handle Piecewise directly, one just needs to make the second argument a List : formatSeries[x, List@Piecewise[{{x, -1/2 <= x < 0}, {1, 0 <= x < 1/2}, {-1, 1/2 <= x < 3/2}}] , {-1/2, 3/2}, n] (Well, I think this design isn't that convenient and can be improved.) 2. This package currently has trouble in handling some edge cases e.g. formatSeries[x, {x Sin[x]}, {0, 2 Pi}, n]
