@Kay moreprops = {Frame -> True, GridLines -> Automatic}; newPlot[func_, range_, prop___] := With[{mp = moreprops}, Plot[func, range, prop, mp]]; newPlot[Sin[x], {x, 0, 10}, GridLinesStyle -> Dashed] still works
