I work for the Burbank, CA R&D group of ARRI [Arnold & Richter Cine Technik GmbH & Co. Betriebs (KG)], as well as the Burbank, CA camera support group. As R&D staff, the CMOS-sensor-based ALEXA camera is my primary focus, along with the development of follow-on technologies for any future camera(s); as camera support, my end users are cinematographers. Prior to joining ARRI I contributed, pro bono, development and technical writing for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' ACES project across a 7-year period and was among those honored with an Emmy Engineering certificate of appreciation (and briefly got to hold the team's Emmy, see picture above). The ARRI color science codebase is in R, and my interest in Mathematica's R support is in combining that codebase with Mathematic's graphic capabilities; unfortunately this is not possible at the moment on my Mac OS X platform as our codebase depends on external libraries that RLink will not permit me to install. I hope this changes in the future.
