comment Programmatically retrieving e-mails from a remote server
@posting in 2016 — does anybody have a working version of this? I'd love to be able to check e-mail from within Mathematica without resorting to MailReceiverFunction and the cloud.

comment Mathematica 10.3 new Network Programming Features
@msalese I don't use Wolfram Finance Platform (relying instead on my own Bloomberg-to-Mathematica interface), but I think the idea is that Mathematica is good for data analysis, risk modeling, and reporting. I don't know of anybody who has written an automated trading system in it. Among other problems, it's relatively slow.

comment Generating G-code from Mathematica
@YvesKlett My needs are very basic, purely two-dimensional. That said, I've no experience with G-code and I'm wary of starting from scratch. I may end up with a Mathematica -> DXF -> Python -> GCode chain, however inelegant.

comment DatePlus and DayPlus perform much worse than my user-defined-function
I used to send comparative benchmarks to Wolfram with every Mathematica release, pointing out how slow their date functions were compared to other interpreted languages. They don't seem to view this as a priority, but perhaps if more of us were to complain they would tackle the problem.

comment Error Using Mysql In Mathematica
Not an answer to your question, but a tip -- I use Mathematica and MySQL together every day, and I use SQLExecute[] rather than SQLUpdate[] or SQLSelect[]. This way I can test the SQL directly in the mySQL workbench and make sure it's doing what I want before I put in in Mathematica.

comment Why can't the Bernstein Bears work normally?
I have no answer to this, but I wanted to comment that out of the corner of my eye I thought the question was "Why can't the Berenstain Bears work normally", which you must admit is pretty intriguing.

@Kuba That would be an integer. march's solution is good but misses that one.

comment Twitter search API
And another question (sorry, I would have combined these but Stackexchange won't let me) -- Is there any way to restrict responses to a specified language? ("Language"-> and "language"-> don't seem to work)

comment What is the best way to create a variable SetDirectory folder (according to the computer i use)
I used to have the same problem, but then standardized on putting the shared directory at "~/Shared/Mathematica", which could be retrieved with FileNameJoin[{$HomeDirectory, "Shared", "Mathematica"}] on all systems (Windows, Un*x, and Mac). This basic approach, with appropriate modifications to directory names, may solve your problem as well.
