@Silvia I tried tinkering with that a bit, couldn't get any satisfactory results.

comment Increase precision for a entire notebook
@Anne-Claire It should, so long as you don't later kill the parallel kernels. The ParallelEvaluate needs to be run every time the parallel kernels are created.

comment Limited Opacity Levels in Image3D?
Yeah I tried a few others, all show similar behavior. A constant opacity also doesn't work.

comment Limited Opacity Levels in Image3D?
I know that some volume renderers do only 256 discrete levels (IDL being an ancient example). I was hoping it was a global rendering option that perhaps was causing this.

@belisarius I'm using V9 on OS X. Even if the banding is absent, the discrete color levels are undesirable, which I still see in your output.

comment Mathematically Eliminated in Baseball
It's a "fun" question, but it could easily be generalized to all sports with playoffs if you're worried about it being too narrow. Baseball just seems like the most interesting case, given the number of games played.

comment Kernel crashes when plotting $z=\sqrt{(x^2 + y^2)^0}$
@george2079 I'd argue that the kernel should never crash, and instances in which it does so in a reproducible way should be considered bugs. If this is really a "don't do that" situation, it should print an error message rather than taking down the entire kernel.

comment How many triangles are there?
Given that lines are drawn already on the original puzzle, I would think it's asking only to count the triangles that can be formed with the existent lines.
