One other thing, John, you are mixing up real (0.02) and exact numbers here. Consider sol = Solve[ Sqrt[29991348*x^2 - 13958305552*x + 992000000 + ((a - b)/x)/(2/100 + c - a)] == 0, x] or soln = NSolve[Sqrt[29991348.0*x^2 - 13958305552.0*x + 992000000.0 + ((a - b)/x)/(0.02 + c - a)] == 0, x], rather than a mix of number types.

Once I wrote down Solve[Sqrt[29991348*x^2 - 13958305552*x + 992000000 + ((a - b)/x)/(0.02 + c - a)] == 0, x] it gave me the answer instantly. However, it's too big to write in the margin of this comment.

Welcome, John! What paw said, and also, it's Solve[equation,x] with uppercase first letter, square brackets and no quote marks, not solve("equation", x). I recommend some introductory material and familiarise yourself with the syntax of the language. That will make things easier for you. Please do come back with other Mathematica questions you might have.

Dots and dashes won't help you if you are using ListPlot and Joined->False as the default. See how some of your data series (e.g. that green one) have breaks in them?

Welcome to the site, John! I have formatted your post for you. Your problem is a common syntax error. See mathematica.stackexchange.com/a/18395/8 - underscore is a reserved character. For this reason, I have marked your post as a duplicate of that question.
