Question regarding function definition overloading / argument passing test Both solutions (by Spawn1701D and Rojo) work, however I needed What Rojo suggested. g[x_Real ?((TrueQ[# < 1]) &)] :=
Print["function for real x of value < 1"] |

Where can I find description of errors and warnings? Thanks, but still I am seeking for detailed descriptions of functions and possible issues, as official documentation is actually worthless. |

Where can I find description of errors and warnings? To be honest. The equation I am solving is really very simple, and i cannot belive it can't be solved numerically. So I want to have more information why such thing happens. |

How to plot filling under a curve? @Mr.Wizard: But that implies another problem: how can I trust it? If I write a paper, and get to some conclusion just because Mathematica "helped" a bit... well, that would be a problem. |

How to plot filling under a curve? @Mr.Wizard: I think that isn't possible as license is personal. Anyway, people can get used to work 20 hrs/day for a bowl of rice, I know I will get used to this s**t :D But at the moment I feel so cheated, and no matter what I am doing Mathematica "helps" me. Like with that plot. I'm quite experienced C++ programmer, and I've done a few apps, and I just cannot understand some solutions - which from my point of view look like human-GUI or API huge mistakes. Anyway... sorry for being so frustrated. |

How to plot filling under a curve? @J.M.: Thanks :) I'm not mad that Mathematica has no OOP. I am mad, that it was said to me it has one, or is easy to implement. Can't you see the point? And the more I use it I see more and more lies. |

How to plot filling under a curve? What I am upset with is that reseller said: OOP? No problem, efficient code!? Of course... and so on. And that is a huge lie. Just this. Yeah - mathematica is fun, but it is not a serious tool of computation. How can one probably write a real computing system without OOP? Of course you can! But it is not efficient in the meaning of coding productivity. And all those default behavours of Mathematica which are absolutely irrational. if it was made right, This post would be unnecessary. Why the hell anybody would like to cut something he wants to plot, by default? Lol... |
