I am a Physics graduate student at Unicamp (University of Campinas). I have received bachelor's and master's degree from USP (University of Sao Paulo), both on Physics.

Present research subject: sterile neutrino phenomenology.

I had experience with Matlab in my master's research project. Now, I'm using Mathematica, which is considered to be a powerful tool for particle phenomenology by my colleagues in the research group.

@kingmonkeywoman Are you using Module for defining your functions? In afirmative case, this might be the issue. @chyaong in such case, your suggestion won't work, because of the bug described in stackoverflow.com/questions/6867892/…

@MichaelE2 , could you give some references or hints on how to control the steps of NMinimize and similar functions? Maybe I can't implement this specific problem that I proposed, but I feel I could learn a lot with this.

I don't see any difference between using Interpolation and ListInterpolaton for multidimensional data. Is there any difference? Maybe I am missing something.

Please, if someone could help me with a closely related question... I may be experiencing a problem with interpolation of 3d data for x and y organized logarithmically. Is this the case of an "unstructured grid"?
