I'm an assistant professor of computer science, which means I'm typically called a computer scientist, though I would call myself a mathematician since my work is in discrete geometry. Some areas I have worked in most recently are: algorithmic origami, distance geometry, and problems related to more exotic polyhedra (than the typical Euclidean varieties); and I dabble in protein folding (who doesn't?).
Roles I have held at one time or another: java programmer, web application designer, indie game developer, iOS app developer, (volunteer, overseas) hospital sysadmin.
More importantly than anything above, I am a husband and father (for the moment of 2 tiny munchkins). I mountain and road bike, rock climb, hike. And I love philosophy, particularly Thomistic and Aristotelian metaphysics.
