@MichaelE2 That's right! But what is the form of other iterative schemes? Only the multi-variate Newton-Raphson scheme is well documented.

Nice! I played around with FindMaximum but according to documentation the syntax should be FindMaximum[2*Ωxz == C0, {{x, 1}, {z, 0.1}}] which however is not working. What am I missing here?

One solution would be to set that rebel point at an extreme position let's say at {9999,9999}, so as to be absent from the plot. What do you think?

Hmm. This comment also applies to @belisarius answer. You use custom FrameTicks and therefore you lose all the sub ticks...
