It's there, but since the polygons in g5 are opaque, you won't be able to see g4 underneath. Anyway: Show[{g4, g5 /. p_Polygon :> {Opacity[2/5], p}}]. (I don't want to post it since it looks too confusing.)

In case OP might be confused: Marco chose to use the "midpoint" Riemann sum for his demonstration here, but it is not too hard to adapt this for the "left" (OP's) or "right" cases.
