I'm also unable to get MMA to calculate the integral symbolically. However, you can calculate it numerically for a given value of a: NIntegrate[(Exp[-a x] (x^2 - 1)^(13/2)/x^10) /. {a -> 0.1}, {x, 1, [Infinity]}]
