I have heard back from Wolfram Support and they have suggested using a sampler block and have also indicated that it will take a long time to sample even a second or two of audio data. I have tried this on a 9 GB I7 machine wit h10 seconds of audio. The simulation ran but no further display was possible without running out of memory. It looks like the bottom line is that signal processing is not something that WSM is well suited for. If I find that this is a misconception on my part and there is a solution to this, I will comment again. Thanks

Thanks Folks, I will read the editing help and use it in the future. With respect to the resolution being reduced, neither the sound nor the plot have the proper form. Note, the basic:</br> Plot[audiofunction[t], {t, 0, 10}, PlotRange -> All] </br> gives an accurate plot and using the original interpolation function generates and accurate sound.
