How to import date (YYYY-MM-DD) data from a file? Kudos for using the ISO 8601 standard date format. The Fred Flintstone Format (MM/DD/YY) should be banned! :-) |

xkcd-style graphs @Amatya - You can accept it if you're convinced this can't be outdone. But in my experience questions with an accepted answer get fewer new answers, so I would wait a couple of days. In any case, if you wish to accept now, you can always change your mind later. |

xkcd-style graphs @rcollyer - On EE.SE there's only 1 (125 upvotes). And don't forget OP's two gold badges: great question and famous question in a couple of hours! (40k views in 13 hours, on EE.SE it usually takes a couple of years to get 10k) |

Does Mathematica use the Elliptic Curve Method (ECM) in FactorInteger[]? @Leonid - well, that dated technology doesn't seem to do so bad :-). And Flash's focus is on animation; I'm not sure it's the right tool for a complex mathematical program (read: has the right function library for it). |

how to read in a file in the same directory? No, by no means inappropriate! I just think it looks funny :-). I didn't know you knew. I usually type user names in my posts in italic; not all user names are identifiable as such. But you don't have to change your habits for me! :-) |

how to read in a file in the same directory? [service message] The "@" before a user name has no function in questions or answers, only in comments. They serve to notify that user of the comment, but only if he commented on that same answer earlier. Only one user can be notified of a comment this way. Poster of the answer will always be notified. |
