Have you considered accepting a different answer, given that Heike's is not correct? (Doesn't have to be mine; mine is derived from Hans' answer.) Feb 3 accepted How can I get a running sum for a list? Feb 3 comment Determining the week of a year from a given date @John - a year is at least 365 days long, which is 52 weeks + 1 day. If 1 January is week 1 (that's if it's a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday), then that extra day is in the 53th week, provided 1 January of the next year is a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. They're before week 1 because week 1 is the first week with a Thursday in it, so it's not week 1, nor week 52, because week 53 already started. If 1 January is a Friday, Saturday or Sunday then 1 January is the last week of the previous year, and 31 December will be week 52. Feb 3 comment Determining the week of a year from a given date @John - The code in my answer (which you also commented to) gives the correct week numbers. I explained there how you can have a week 53. Jan 26 comment How can I create a fountain effect? @cormullion - you mean "if you don't like" ;-). Jan 26 comment relative scale of elements in ImageCompose Actually, when I think about it IMO the Epilog makes more sense: first you plot the data, and then you indicate which points are relevant, instead of first indicating the relevant points on an empty page. But I'm nitpicking, and that on a Saturday night :-). HANWE! Jan 26 comment relative scale of elements in ImageCompose I can see the upvote indicator, and +2, but I'm not sure it was +1 before I voted. Jan 26 comment relative scale of elements in ImageCompose No, it's fine, and together with ssch's solution I like it better than kguler's. The reason for the transparency is that I'm more used to Epilogs than Prologs. I realize that I still often make the wrong choice == a lot to learn! Jan 26 comment relative scale of elements in ImageCompose Aha, a cheat! :-) I was thinking of cutting out the disk from a plane, like in CSG, but this is easier, of course. Thanks, +1. (I admit that I also cheat by just placing the purple dots over the blue ones, instead of replacing them.) Jan 26 comment relative scale of elements in ImageCompose Nice, thanks a bunch. +1 for now.
