comment How can I get a running sum for a list?
Thanks. I didn't know about the Accumulate function. (which reminds me of what a fellow student of mine said: "programming is like magic. It's easy once you know the magic words.")

accept rate could be higher though. 24% on 38 questions isn't much. Please check your older questions and see if there's not a best answer. Acceppting is showing appreciation, but also indicates to other users that the question has been answered, so they can give priority to unanswered question. And to encourage accepting it gets you +2 rep too.

I like the alias function you added. This is exactly what I want, thanks a bunch! +1 for now (I'll wait with the accept and see if there are other ideas)

comment Can the banner in the Home Edition be removed?
@John - Fair enough. I thought that if the option is available it would also have been tested, though I understand that the kernel is much more important than some appearance setting. But I still don't know what the purpose of the banner is. Do you know if it is for the links to learning center and demonstrations?

comment How does Mathematica decide that Log[2,8] is integer?
Aaah, I should have dug deeper in the documentation :-(. I knew about Log10[], but didn't know there was a Log2[] as well. Thanks. (No need for Taylor here)

comment How does Mathematica decide that Log[2,8] is integer?
I was aware of the bit twiddling (I'm an electronics engineer and have low-level programmed lots of microcontrollers), but I thought the bit twiddling would be Mathematica's job, not mine :-). Still +1, thanks.

comment How to plot a quarter of circle using Mathematica?
@Mr.Wizard - I don't see how this wouldn't answer OP's question. Granted Vitaliy doesn't use Plot, but ParametricPlot isn't Plot either. And with Graphic and Circle the result is there! :-)
