My training and early commercial work was in Applied Mathematics and Control Systems Engineering. As a sideline I taught MS students for 10 years at Santa Clara University. Over time I found it necessary to train myself in various Computer Science topics, achieving the level of Junior Dilettante. Curiosity about Quantum Mechanics led me to join Susskind's Quantum Groupies at Stanford University, where I had the distinction of being one of the youngest at 60 and least able to comprehend what he was talking about. In retirement I volunteer time in a small college in Southern Oregon.
