comment How to set an absolute path name using SetDirectory?
@seismatica and stevenvh the point of my comment was to raise awareness on the issue of inputting file names. The documentation: reference.wolfram.com/language/howto/InsertAFilePath.html says you must use double backslashes, but also offers drag and drop techniques. In reference.wolfram.com/language/howto/… you can also read about FilenameJoin

@ChrisK the NumericalAnalysis package should be available on the WB site under Examples. You probably have to download it

comment Documentation build failed with Workbench
Chris, did you try to create documentation and build the NumericalAnalysis package bundled with WB 2.0 ?This package comes with documentation. See if you get the same error with it. If yes, then the problem lies in your WB installation, overwise the problem is perhaps in the way you wrote the documentation. Also: do you get other messages? Normally WB is very verbose, telling you about every step it is doing. Is there anything that went well during the build?

comment Quickly look-up usages, options and attributes of symbols
@halirutan when I try to load your palette with Get["goo.gl/QPywk"] or with Get["raw.github.com/halirutan/SymbolInformationPalette/master/… I get a Get::noopen message. I am using version 8.01 in Windows. Are the links dead?

comment How do I NOT change the input/output number when editing?
Sorry @mete but your m.% in cell 144 is working as expected. It is equal to m.m where m is defined in cell 143. That is because % refers to the last output cell (the one with the highest number, so far).

comment Why is my answer being displayed with “Subscript^(0,1)[a,b]”?
In the edited text you say that you take the derivatve wrt b and that there is a a_b, but in the code I see the derivative rt s and e_s. So which is which? Please clarify and edit.

comment Google speech API . Speech to text recognition with Mathematica
@cormullion I am not so much interested in giving mathematica commands verbally, but rather to give commands to a generic app programmed in the WL (Wolfram Language). Besides the API might be hopefully programmed to search in a restricted vocabulary for specialized words

comment Google speech API . Speech to text recognition with Mathematica
@Nasser exactly! there are fantastic accessibility implications. I think/hope using this web service is as simple as sending a mp3 file to a URL, so I look forward to seeing some good answers

comment Making code version aware
Recently in Meta it was asked whether it would be appropriate to talk about Mathics. Several users (including me) thought it would be interesting, as long as Mathics language is compatible with Mathematica. So I just started the tag with this simple, but necessary question.

Thank you @Thomas , I am relieved. Some users, in some other branches of StackExchange, frown upon humor. Fortunately here at MMA.SE we have built a better community.

comment Reconstruct text pages cut by shredder
In the blockbuster movie "The tourist" they show a computer reconstructing a letter from burnt fragments. Even in the movie it was a difficult process. And ultimately it proved useless.

@Liam I do not understand what is it that you are not experiencing. I just described the standard way to add shortcuts, menus, ect (modifying KeyEventTranslations.tr) and suggested a quicker way to exit Mathematica session
