comment What's the difference between these two ways of specifying dependent packages?
I agree with you @LeonidShifrin that Maeder's books are still the best in many respects. I only wish they would be updated/expanded to cover the current MMA version. They were written in the 90's and cover versions 2.x and maybe 3.0. Yet they are still very relevant due to the smooth evolution of MMA in the following 20 years.

@NoEscap WildCats is created with Workbench, but I use the internal MMA editor, so I make a heavily commented/sectioned .nb file. The autogenerated .m file is for deployment only.

@Frink probably. To be honest it is the first time I hear about CloseKernels. As I said, since they are related, they should be cross referenced.

@NoEscape The doc notebooks include 10's of embedded images. If you have any complaint....talk to WRI.

@Simon has perfectly well expressed my point :-). On the other hand - experimenting with the OP characteristic diplomatic writing style - it might be said that , if one needs comments to understand my code, than perhaps he/she needs to read Wolfram's book and some category theory first. No offense here :-) Anyway...prior releases of WildCats indeed also included the much more friendly .nb file .

@Frink good question! I am not sure since I never really experimented with parallel computations, but my imression is that Quit only closes one kernel, while CloseKernels closes all open kernels. Other ideas? I also find strange that Quit and CloseKernels are not related in the documentation. In my opinion this is wrong.

could you perhaps describe or link some examples of use of fractal dimension?

Welcome to MMA SE! Ooku. I would suggest that you wait a reasonable amount of time (3-4 days), before accepting any given answer. This is because:SE members are located worldwide and so live in different time zones. The best answers might need a bit to be written and people are more motivated if they see that you have not yet accepted any previous answer.

I tried that before asking here, but I really do not wish to mess up with the labels

This is very good!....but now there is another problem. For some reason, StandardForm is indeed displayed, but my custom notation (created with Notation and MakeBoxes[....StandardForm]) are no longer working. I also tried "Output" and "Text", to no avail. Any suggestions?

This is not good for me Silvia. In my case case the label are "the message", so I want them to evaluate and stay untouched

@alancalvitti thank you Alan, I was aware of Reprints TAC. I would be glad to share other sources too. My email is at the end of my answer below.

@alancalvitti nice to meet you also in this forum. Are there more articles by MacLane or about categories in that same repository (dspace.rice.edu)? I cannot find them right away.
