PhD from Notre Dame in '90.
Drifted from representation theory of algebraic groups to applications of algebra into telecommunications, mostly coding theory, and lately mostly teaching at college level.
3 graduate students with awarded PhDs
I have mostly worked at our local University at Turku, Finland. At one point I tried working for Nokia Research Center. It was ok, but an old dog didn't learn all the tricks, and then they downsized, so I returned to the Uni as a tenured lecturer.

ParametricPlot3D output without the meshlines @J.M. are that kind of tricks explained somewhere in Mathematica Book? Looks like it is a time for a refresher course. |

ParametricPlot3D output without the meshlines @R.M. The last time I tried it I ran into some kind of problems. Cisco VPN and F-Secure virus protection didn't like each other. There were other problems, too. Undoubtedly they have worked on those. May be I should keep asking questions? |

ParametricPlot3D output without the meshlines @Heike: Bingo! That works! Thanks a million. Wanna write that as an answer? |

ParametricPlot3D output without the meshlines +1 Thanks for the suggestion. Didn't work for me. The output of FullForm[tube] does not seem to contain any lines. It is represented internally as a list of Polygons, so no wonder that your substitution does not do anything, because there are no Lines. |
