DEar @MarianadaCosta, I'm not privy to how the algorithms have been developed. It might be that Automatic just defaults to the most used distribution, namely, the Normal Distribution. I would recommend that you take a look a look at EDA (exploratory data analysis). A starting point en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exploratory_data_analysis
