@DanielLichtblau I tried to do that, but I wasn't able to prevent the path from going backwards or enter a loop. Then I started to drift from my objective, and since the lists are not that big, I gave up. I'll give the link you recommended a good read and if I come up with a simple solution, I'll edit the code accordingly.

I was afraid something like that was happening. The small coordinate is somehow a dummy coordinate, which means I can rescale it at will. I tried to look for this possibility before posting with AspectRato; as always, the bug is in my head. Thank you very much for the answer. I've edited the question to address the problem.

@Hector Right. I had an error on the last term. I hadn't multiplied it by $(-1)^n$. Besides that, I don't know why it behaves as you are pointing out.
