I have this question: sometimes I need to interrupt my mathematica batch jobs, but how can I get to cleanly kill the MathKernels that are still running on the background? Every time I attempt to kill my calculations that are being run either directly on the linux command line or on a dedicated cluster, I face this problem, which is very annoying as some times the number of available licenses simply gets exhausted. I check the number of used MathKernels by using monitorlm on the linux command line. Note that kill -9 PID doesn't work at all here. The only way to go around this is by performing a hard resetting of the license manager mathlm.
Thanks in advance.
