I find that Mathematica has excellent tools for processing experimental data: importing complex data, manipulating it, fitting curve to the data and plotting with error bars. But the problem for me is that this procedure takes long time (as compared with Origin Pro or even Matlab).

I was thinking that many of the standard procedures could be automated with Palette. Have you seen (or have) palette that auto-compile code for such procedures?

Also, is there a place where users could submit and share their notebooks and palettes? Something like Matlab file exchange?

Basically the answer is no, and there isn't really any official place to share these things either. On the other hand, if you know what you'd like to achieve then you can have a go at making it yourself, ask for contributions/assistance here, and post the result on this site. It can be a community effort! (FWIW, I don't find Mathematica particularly inconvenient for analysing experimental data, especially as usually each experiment needs different analysis anyway. But I certainly wouldn't object to any attempts to improve matters.) – Oleksandr R. Nov 8 '12 at 19:15
built in links to Tableau or Spotfire would be useful -- or alternatively complimentary front ends that behave like those apps. – Mike Honeychurch Nov 8 '12 at 21:20
