# Can Wolfram System Modeler models be published in CDFs?

Is it possible to publish or distribute Models generated with WSM in CDF format (to interested people that do not have Mathematica and/or WSM)

What do you want to publish? Results? The model diagram? A model and a way to solve it? –  jrhodin Nov 1 '12 at 13:46

Disclaimer: I work on Wolfram SystemModeler at Wolfram Research

There is currently not a way to distribute a full model in CDF that can be simulated by someone that does not have SystemModeler.

You can use the WSMLink Mathematica package that comes with SystemModeler to produce simulation (and other) results for your model, which you can then distribute in a CDF. This can be useful if you want to construct a report of your findings from your model.

Of course, you could also simulate multiple scenarios, and use the results to build for example a Manipulate. In this way, you can give interactive results for a predetermined selection of things to do with your model.

You can also insert images of the model diagram from SystemModeler, by opening the model in Model Center, right-click, and choosing "Copy View as Image". You can then paste this into your notebook/CDF.

To sum up, you can get results and images into a CDF, but for someone to be able to run new scenarios based on your model, they need a copy of SystemModeler.
